The Board of Directors of Racine Neighborhood Watch, Inc., back in 2012, created a wine, beer, and Wisconsin cheese-tasting fundraiser. They called it “Take A Taste Out of Crime,” a play on McGruff the Crime Dog’s quote, “Take a Bite Outta Crime.” It was to be a spectacular event – and very different from the run-of-the-mill fundraisers. TATOOC featured wine, beer, and cheese samplings, unlimited hot hors d’oeuvres, a jazz band for background ambiance, and plenty of bar-style standing tables with limited seating at a few round tables.

Fast forward to today, TATOOC has become RNW’s major fundraiser. The gala is recognized as this area’s best after-work social and fundraising event.  In a fun and casual atmosphere, complemented by the musical stylings of CSQ, a local jazz band, attendees can stroll through two ballrooms and enjoy spectacular samplings of wines and beers, delicate morsels of Wisconsin cheeses, and a smorgasbord of hot hors d’oeuvres. Over 130 items (designer fashion, electronics, baskets, gift certificates, home goods, sporting event tickets, autographed sports memorabilia, and more!) are showcased for silent bidding or raffles.
